With 31 years of experience under his belt, Tan Yi founder of The Dojo, who has a 5th Dan from the International Judo Federation, is no stranger to the local judo scene. As an athlete, he has won numerous championships right from when he first started Judo as a 14-year-old, even winning the much-coveted ‘Best Boy’ medal that year. He then went on to dominate the local judo scene in the latter part of the 80’s through to the 90’s, when he retired from competitive Judo and began to coach full-time. In that time, he won every Age-Group and Kyu-Grade championship that he competed in, as well as represented Singapore at numerous competitions overseas, ranging from Malaysia to Korea.

In THE DOJO, beginner kid’s classes, members will get to learn Judo ethics like respect, bowing. The Dojo also cover basic fitness exercise, basic Judo break falls, groundwork, simple throws and much judo related games and end of the class, kids learn how to fold their own Judo attire.

As for the tods class, the class syllabus comprises Judo ethics, motor skills, judo movement coordination, break falls, judo related games and also end of the class, kids get to learn how to fold their own Judo attire.
